New duet project by
Tero Saarinen & Kimmo Pohjonen
Choreographer-dancer Tero Saarinen and composer-accordionist Kimmo Pohjonen join forces in a new creation titled Breath. The duet will receive its world premiere on 12 April, 2018 at Grand Théâtre de Québec folllowed by five performances at Danse Danse‘s Nordic Spring Festival at Place des Arts in Montréal, Canada, April 17-21, 2018. The Finnish premiere is at Tamperetalo, May 12, 2018.
As these two internationally acclaimed artists take measure on each other on stage, live music, dance and visuals intertwine to create wild forms and mythical images – infused with Beckett-inspired existentialism and absurd humour. Bessie-award winning Mikki Kunttu is behind the lighting and set design, and the costumes are by fashion designer Teemu Muurimäki.
